The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently checking out the Fernie 2 Neighborhood Hall in Mpuluzi to render services into the community.
SASSA are going to be rendering providers such as new social grant applications, change of payment method, consumer treatment enquiries, in addition to the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.
In a press release, the agency said it really is alarmed with regard to the higher variety of people counting on social grants for survival.
“The intention with the Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out to a large amount of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.
“This is certainly due to the lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there is no fully functional office dedicated to service the area on a daily basis. The services stage produced for intervention experiences a high inflow of probable beneficiaries, that makes it hard for that office to attend to all people who check out a service point.
“In this SRD reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise far more assets to permit the servicing of all consumers and SRD improve access to Social Assistance products and services,” the agency said.
